ESG AT THE CENTRE OF GOVERNANCE

STRATEGY TO GENERATE POSITIVE IMPACT

The 2030 Sustainability Strategy: Impact+ is now available, reinforcing our commitment to the UN’s 2030 Agenda and the SDGs. The document materialises the purpose of contributing with a positive impact to a fairer and more sustainable economy, respecting the Environment and Biodiversity, developing People and Communities and integrating ESG into Strategy and Daily Action.

The Strategy was developed around three main axes: Environmental, Social and Governance. For Raquel Santos, BEL Group’s Sustainability Director, ‘we have designed the roadmap for an ambitious path, with clear and transparent objectives, which we want to take together with our people and our partners. It’s the right direction for understanding and transforming our value creation into positive impact.’

Strategy 2030 defines concrete ambitions, associating a specific KPI and a deadline for achieving each goal, as well as regularly reporting progress on each commitment on a microsite developed specifically to publicise this document and the evolution of its performance. BEL Group is also committed to continuous improvement in communication and design in the field of sustainability. Find out more at: https://impactomais.grupobel.pt/

December Special Newsletter

The last E.BEL of 2024 had a special edition dedicated to Grupo BEL’s Christmas Lunch. The December newsletter brings the report of the party that brought together in Rio Maior about 600 employees from the various companies of the Group. This year, the meeting was held in the format of a Christmas Market, where several stalls distributed throughout the space made known the activity of the companies and where employees had the opportunity to make their last Christmas purchases.

In addition to the Festival, E.BEL brings the results of the collection of goods carried out by the BEL Group, with employees contributing with more than 750 kgs of food, clothes and toys, which were delivered to the Social Grocery Store of Penha de França, in Lisbon, and to the Francisco de Assis Youth Community, in Coimbra. We also bring the Christmas tree contest between the Savings stores and the new releases of Tribuna da História. Read in https://grupobel.pt/wp-content/uploads/AF_E.BEL-12_2024.pdf

Solidarity employees brighten Christmas in Lisbon and Coimbra

Solidarity was once again at the heart of Grupo BEL’s actions with the recent campaign to collect food, hygiene products, clothes and toys. This initiative, which involved employees from all the Group’s companies, made it possible to support two institutions that play a fundamental role in helping the most vulnerable communities: the Social Grocery Store of Penha de França, in Lisbon, and the Francisco de Assis Youth Community, in Coimbra.
The Social Grocery Store of Penha de França is a reference for local support, working with families, the elderly and people with economic difficulties in the parish of Penha de França, in Lisbon. In turn, the Francisco de Assis Youth Community (CJFA), in Coimbra, has a special mission aimed at the protection and development of children, young people and families at risk. The institution welcomes mothers, children and young people in vulnerable contexts, preserving family ties and ensuring a safe and structured environment where they can rebuild their lives.
